Overview
Chinese logotype created for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The intention was to translate the angular, carved quality of the Latin mark into Traditional Chinese while preserving legibility on busy, high-contrast key art.
Approach
- Matched overall stem widths and vertical rhythm to retain the solid, chiselled feel of the Latin title.
- Adopted key design cues—bevelled corners, inner contours, and sharp inktrap-like cuts—rather than copying shapes directly.
- Scaled motifs up or down where needed to suit Chinese character density, keeping counters open at poster sizes.
- Interpreted calligraphic references into modern, geometric strokes (e.g., straightened throw strokes) to fit the franchise style.
- Built side subtitle “與十環幫傳奇” with a complementary weight and spacing for clear hierarchy.
